Stephen looked at her for a moment, "They are dead, don't bother saying sorry, its alright really." he said shrugging, walking along.

Tarah looked away for a moment, a hand raised to her lips in thought. As much as her family annoyed her at times she wouldn't know how to react if she lost one of them. "How did it happen, if you don't mind me asking" She didn't want to pry, but she knew so little about him.

"Old friends." Stephen said, "we were working for them, well my mother was, so they looked after me and when they died I inherited the house."

"Well that must have been nice of them" She thought to herself, if her parents died there was no one to really take care of the family. Her and her brother were old enough to live on their own, but her little sisters weren't. "So you've lost all those that you have ever loved? And it doesn't bother you?" Tarah said, as they approached the restaurant.
