Name: Meredith Hayward.
Age: 19.
Gender: Female.
Position: Maid.
Status: Single.
Family: Mother - Lousie (seamstress) Father - Phillip (bookshop worker) Brother (24) - Christopher (mine worker)
Hair Color: Dark brown.
Eye Color: Light Brown.
Height: 5'5.
Style: She wears modest outfits as they are not able to afford much. Whenever her mother gets enough fine fabric left, she makes fancy dresses for the both of them, should they need it someday. While at work, she wears her maid uniform.
Appearence:
Personality: Meredith knows her place and works with it. Of course she admires the high class ladies and wishes that she could go to the balls, wear all the dresses, be persued by the gentlemen. But she is not resentful about her position. Her family belongs to the working class and they got what they need. Meredith is free-spririted, she loves laughing out loud and making people forget about their problems. Soemtimes she tries very hard to releiv her mother's financial stress.
Sometimes she talks without thinking and can be a bit impulsive. Talking often gets her into trouble and out of it too. Restless, unable to sit still for too long and very curious. Wandering and exploring got her into trouble quite often as well.
As her father works in a book shop, Meredith and her brother are somewhat literate and she has had her father and mother read to her Thomas Carlyle and Charles thingyens and Darwin.
History: The Haywards belong to the working class and they have always done so. Phillip was the son of a chimney sweeper and a maid who worked for one fo the most important families in London. He, however, refused the gardening jobs that his father reserved for him when he was old enough and instead looked for a job in the city. There was this bookshop that needed someone to clean and that was Phil.
He met Lousie, the daughter and grandaughter of a seamstress and one herself, on the streets one day. He took on the job of persuing her until both of their families agreed on their marriage.
They were able to get a small house to raise the two children they later had.
Growing up was hard, the taxes were impossible and these people don't really know what a vacation is. As soon as their older son, Christopher, turned sixteen, he was sent to work in a new mine, that opened a lot of jobs. Then, when their daughter Meredith turned sixteen she was sent to do house labour.
Meredith now resides in the house of her employers but she makes time to visit her family as often as she can.
Like: Flowers, rain, fashion, music, freshly-baked bread, chatting/gossiping, exploring, dogs.
Dislike: Tying up her hair, cleaning the stables, being kept waiting, cats, noises when she tries to sleep, being patronized.
